Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) was established by an Act of Parliament No. 22 of 2011, by delinking Bunda College of Agriculture from The University of Malawi. Positions For Teaching Staff

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Veterinary Epidemiology

(DVM, BVSc with specialty or subspecialty (MSc or PHD)

 Duties

  • Teach students Veterinary Epidemiology
  • Give practical and laboratory classes
  • Develop an independent area of research in veterinary Epidemiology
  • Establish lab and identify practical’s necessary for Epidemiology practice.
  • Teach allied courses within the Faculty

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology

(DVM, BVSc with specialty or subspecialty (MSc or PHD)

Duties

  • Teach students Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology
  • Give practical and laboratory classes
  • Develop an independent area of research in veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology
  • Establish lab and identify reagents and equipment necessary for Pharmacology lab
  • Teach allied courses within the Faculty

  • Teach students Anatomic pathology, Histopathology, Pathophysiology, General and Special Pathology
  • Give practical and laboratory classes
  • Develop an independent area of research in veterinary pathology
  • Establish lab and identify reagents and equipment necessary for pathology lab
  • Teach allied courses within the Faculty

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Veterinary Microbiology

(DVM, BVSc with specialty or subspecialty (MSc or PHD)

Duties:

  • Teach students courses in diagnostic microbiology and veterinary microbiology, Bacteriology, Virology and Mycology.
  • Develop an independent area of research in the area of animal microbiology.
  • Establish a microbiology lab
  • Teaching allied courses within the Faculty.

  • Teach students courses of Helminthology, Protozoology and Entomology
  • Develop an independent area of research

  • Teach students courses in veterinary Clinical Pathology or Laboratory technology

  • Establish a Clinical Pathology lab and conduct practical classes.

  • Establish a surgical theatre and conduct practical classes.
